Cilcennin WI was established in October 1956, and has succeeded since. We have regular meetings with excellent speakers. Members are involved in helping knitting, crafting and gardening with the children in the local school.
We serve tea and help in the annual Fun Day which is held in July.
Meetings are held in the village hall on a Monday evening at 7.30 pm. We try to have two meetings a month, and from time to time we have an afternoon meeting which is held at 1.30pm. There is an outing usually in May, and in July we prepare for the Fun Day. We go to see a Musical in the Aberystwyth Arts Centre every summer. A very warm welcome to new members.
Meetings are held in the Village Hall at 2.00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month from March to November (inclusive), the club members come from in and around the Cilcennin community. The aim is to provide a chance for people to share information on seeds and plants, discuss design ideas, talk about gardening problems and provide help where possible – all with a cup of tea and biscuits. Discussions include how to set up a nursery and the problems doing this, how to grow tomatoes and how to grow beautiful plants in a hanging basket.
We also hold the following events:-
Spring Show and photography competition in April
Plant Sale at the end of May
September Garden and Produce Show
